New Tier 4 Locomotives from InterMountain
Posted by Duane Hesketh on
InterMountain Railway has just announced that they will be producing HO scale versions of the new GE Tier 4 Evolution Series locomotives. These are the newest locomotives being delivered to railroads across North America and meet the US EPA's stringent Tier 4 emission standards.
According to InterMountain:
"The InterMountain Tier 4 GEVO will continue our tradition of excellence in this series of modern, GE-built locomotives. This all new model will feature finely molded parts and railroad specific details, accurate paint and lettering with laser sharp printing and a smooth, powerful drive mechanism. This locomotive will be factory equipped with ESU® sound decoders or ESU® non-sound decoders; a DC plug option will be available upon request. We are offering this locomotive decorated for the first four railroads to order and operate this new design. As more railroads purchase these and take delivery, we will make subsequent product announcements."
The four railroads being offered by InterMountain will be as follows:
- BNSF New Image ET44C4
- Canadian National EF-644t
- CSX ET44AH
- Union Pacific C45AH
InterMountain anticipates a November 2016 delivery date. A production model is not available at this time, but take a look at the prototypes of each loco below to get an idea of how the HO model will look. The company will produce each locomotive in six different road numbers.
